Join us on Thursday 12 May 2016 for an exclusive, architect-led talk and tour of The Barn, the stunning new RIBA Award-winning amenities building for the University of Nottingham designed by Make Architects.
Project architect David Patterson will be there to tell the story of the building and what inspired the design of this “outstanding new addition” to the university. Guided tours of The Barn will be led by Make and our partners.
Date: Thursday, 12 May 2016 from 6pm to 8pm
Location: Sutton Bonington Campus, University of Nottingham, UK
The Barn, Make’s fifth building for the university, brings what were once disparate facilities together under one roof for the first time to accommodate the needs of a growing campus population. Over its three floors, The Barn houses a dining hall, bar, common room, graduate centre, faith rooms, student services and several additional facilities. The clearly defined entrances and large, open concourse clad in local brick provide a warm, welcoming environment for all.
"The Barn is a high quality addition to this university campus... It is a thoughtful design that responds well to its users and brief, but also celebrates its location and will become the focal point in the campus’s day-to-day life."
RIBA East Midlands Jury Chair 2015
