The first phase of our East Greenwich masterplan is complete. On the brownfield site formerly occupied by the District Hospital, we’ve created new homes, public destinations and a community hub – a rich new neighbourhood with a strong identity founded in local context.
That context is crucial. We’ve designed the development around existing street patterns and with the community in mind. Along with 629 new apartments, maisonettes and townhouses that will help meet local housing needs, the masterplan includes vital community infrastructure: a new public square with shops and cafés, and a brand-new Greenwich Centre housing a public library, leisure centre, language school and GP practice. The result will be a model mixed use development that caters to all different types of people.
In 2014 our scheme won Best Residential Development at The Wharf Awards. We’ve now started the build, using sustainable materials and techniques, including the incorporation of on-site energy technology. In 2017 Greenwich Square will be complete and kick-start the regeneration of East Greenwich at large.
