This competition-winning scheme will provide high-performance units for an exceptionally low build cost of £60,000 per home, using modern methods of off-site manufacture and construction.

The development consists of an undulating strip of accommodation which offers 94 new homes arranged in a modern interpretation of the classic Victorian terrace. This building divides the site into two clear zones: the ‘street side’ extends from the main entrance to the site and incorporates a child-friendly area, while the ‘garden side’ offers private green spaces for a range of the new homes.

The accommodation ranges from one-bedroom flats to four-bedroom houses, appealing to a variety of users from first time buyers and young families to pensioners, and creating a sustainable new community which will support the future growth of Aylesbury.

The scheme deploys tried-and-tested, off-site manufacturing and uses timber frames and cladding to minimise environmental impact. The development is designed to achieve the highest standards of energy efficiency, and will meet Level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes.
