The judges noted that “[as] one of London’s first net-zero carbon offices, its pioneering vision is reflected in its tasteful, yet forward-thinking construction.” They commended Make for “spearheading the future of urban office design” and “conquering challenges presented by mixing retained facades with new ones, [to] notably deliver an all-electric workspace and residential apartments – including public spaces.”
Project architect Jason McColl said: “We worked hard to harness the character of Fitzrovia in our building form and create a real honesty in the structural expression; we’re so pleased to have this recognised. The building’s floorplates are highly efficient and complemented by beautiful communal spaces to ensure this workplace exceeds the needs of its occupants now and in the future.
“This is a piece of city-making which will stand the test of time.”
