Collaboration was key to our interior refurbishment for Great Portland Estates. We worked closely with the London property developer at every stage of our fit-out – from brief development to planning to materials and furniture selection – to design an environment that is authentically GPE. The completed design reflects the company’s key business drivers, supports its ongoing expansion and enhances its brand values.

After analysing GPE’s existing workspace, we restructured it, increasing the social space and providing additional meeting and support facilities. This new layout promotes informal interaction among staff and with external visitors, letting the company’s collegial ethos shine. Key architectural interventions include a new skylight and an open riser staircase that together unlock cross views of the London skyline, showcasing GPE’s expansive portfolio.

Importantly, our design looks to the future, with an emphasis on high-quality, durable materials and space planning that will support the company for years to come. Black lacquer joinery insertions provide continuity across the office’s two floors, while timeless finishes like walnut veneer and Sahara Noir marble provide a sense of permanence and gravitas. The fit-out places a high importance on sustainability and in 2017 achieved an SKA Gold rating.

It’s been fantastic collaborating with such an articulate, considered client team to design a beautiful environment that supports GPE’s day-to-day work and future growth.
