Sustainability has informed our design from the outset. We’ve reclaimed materials, such as raised access floors and gym flooring, to give them a new lease on life. We’ve also incorporated enhanced ventilation in excess of the latest BCO standards, plus high-efficiency air source heat pumps that generate low-carbon heating, hot water and cooling. Once complete, the building will be wrapped in a living green facade – the largest green wall in Europe. Beyond its aesthetic qualities, the facade will absorb air pollution, significantly enhance biodiversity, reduce urban temperatures and provide thermal benefits.
Eden is expected to complete in later this year and is targeting several accreditations, including BREEAM ‘Outstanding’, WiredScore ‘Platinum’ and a NABERS 5.5* rating.
Project architect Rahul Vishwakarma says: “We’re excited to see Eden’s green wall coming to life in Salford. The pioneering building is pushing boundaries and making a statement in the New Bailey masterplan, boosting biodiversity and creating a sustainable and vibrant place to work.”
