Simon Robins, project architect at Make, says: “While designing One East Point, we collaborated closely with the local council to develop a building that both respected the local context and responded to the depth of history on the Isle of Dogs. As a consequence, our design reflects the fantastic industrial heritage of the docks and references the history of art on the Isle. With the recent approval of another of our tall building designs in the area, we’re excited to be part of the story elevating the Isle of Dogs to new heights.”
Simon Passer, MD of City & Docklands, says: “We are delighted with the positive outcome achieved at planning committee for One East Point, which will unlock underutilised office buildings to provide much needed housing in this well-connected East London location. The project will bring significant improvements to the local community, including 120 affordable homes, a retail and leisure offering, and a much-enhanced public realm.”
