Worship Square reaches practical completion

Make Architects has completed work on Worship Square: a new net-zero-in-operation workplace located in the South Shoreditch Conservation Area. Designed in collaboration with client HB Reavis UK and delivered by JM Architects, the 9-storey building delivers 120,000ft² of flexible commercial office space, including 15,000ft² of on-demand affordable workspace, along with valuable wellbeing-focused amenities.

Make’s design replaces two inefficient 6-storey blocks with a single high-quality office building flexible enough to accommodate either a single tenancy or a variety of businesses. The new block, expressed through a vibrant blue facade, features strong vertical piers and textured spandrels, and is clad in extruded terracotta – a reference to the warehouse architecture synonymous with the local area.

The ground floor and lobby spaces are equipped to host a rotating programme of retail and leisure functions open to occupiers as well as to the public. The development also features 3,200 NASA-approved air purifying plants, plus a gym, auditorium, and 9,000ft² of communal roof terraces with urban allotments and a worm farm – all devised to support sustainability and social value in the workplace.
