This residential development will form a new gateway to London’s Isle of Dogs. Our design makes the most of the waterside site, creating an important new focal point for the area while honouring its industrial past. Through close consultation with the local council and a detailed analysis of its tall building policies, we’ve designed a 170m tower that will respect its surrounding context and create a vital new marker between Millwall Inner Dock and South Quay Station.
To enhance safety across the building, we developed a two-core solution that provides dual emergency access if required. We’ve designed the accommodation on a tenure-blind basis, with 35% dedicated to affordable housing. Every apartment enjoys dual-aspect views as well as a private, oversized wintergarden that can be used year-round.
Our design creates new opportunities for community engagement with its abundant amenities. By setting the building footprint back, we’re creating exciting new public spaces by South Quay Station and along the waterfront, turning the underutilised site into a vibrant and accessible destination. Meanwhile, the stepped nature of the building allows us to incorporate generous terraces and play spaces set against the backdrop of the London skyline.
