Planning has been granted for Make’s new commercial building for Bridges Fund Management and Hobart Partners in Hackney.
Located in the South Shoreditch conservation area, the highly sustainable office building is on a prominent corner location, bordering Worship Street to the south and Clifton Street to the east, and fronting what will be a new public square.
The building integrates fully with the new plans for the wider Worship Square, which will be delivered by Hackney Council. Together they present an important piece of new public realm for Hackney, adding to the character of the area.
Matthew Bugg, lead architect said: “We are so pleased that the building was given approval at committee. We have worked closely with the planners to meet their requirements for the site and believe the building will be a great addition to the area, with adaptable office space catering to a range of occupiers. The ground floor is specifically designed to support and host retail, leisure and informal workplace uses so that it can engage with Hackney’s new Worship Square and become a real amenity for the people in this area.”
